Double Bayou East Fork June 3 2023 GPX file

This 11 mile out-and-back paddle trip is usually a trip rating 2 up the East Fork of Double Bayou from Job Beason Park to Double Bayou Park.. We will take a break for lunch at Double Bayou Park, where there are restroom facilities.

We will use the new kayak/canoe launch, so you don't have to get your feet wet.

It is well protected from wind and there is sufficient shade along the route if needed. It is an out and back trip, so no shuttle is needed.  We will stop for lunch at the turnaround point (Double Bayou Park).  There are facilities available at both parks for your convenience.  Channel Marker 17 iand Hurricane Tita's are just down the street from Job Beason Park if anyone wants a cold beer or burger after the paddle.

Let's be ready to launch at 9 AM

Hazards.............Sometimes a little current and/or wind, one 3 foot alligator, some boat traffic, and some trees in the water.  Water and air should be warm.  Wear good closed-toe footwear for debris and barnacles in the water.

How to Get There:

From Houston: Drive east on Interstate-10. At Exit 810, turn south on FM 563 and continue straight when it becomes Eagle Road. In the town of Oak Island, turn right onto W Bayshore Road and continue straight onto Hisler Road to Job Beason Park.
