We will paddle into Galveston Bay and West to Shell Island or Bird Islands.   Because it is a state park, there will be a $5 use fee. Good parking and a nice, gentle, somewhat sandy put-in and facilities at the put in on Lake Como.

Be prepared to navigate fishermen and possibly some beach goers using the launch site.  There should be little to no motor boat traffic once out in the bay. Be prepared to do a little shuffle to warn the rays.

The park can be reached from Interstate 45 by exiting right onto 61st Street and traveling south on 61st Street to its intersection with Seawall Boulevard, and then right (west) on Seawall (FM 3005) 10 miles to the park entrance.  If coming from Galveston, turn right and go to the end of the road, where we will unload and carry our boars to water on the right.

You will need to go to park at HQ first to pay the day fee of $5, or better yet, get your park pass online , print and display on the dashboard.

We will meet at 9:00 AM and launch at 9:30 AM

The Park HQ is located at:
Latitude
(degrees, minutes, seconds) N:  29° 11' 55.10"
Longitude (degrees, minutes, seconds) W:  94° 57' 23.40"
