About this event
HASK Socializing is in short supply, but what is in more dire need these days is access to sustainable fruit and vegetables to local folks who are experiencing a lack of nutrition that is not supplied by food banks. After an informative conversation with Dr. David Huang, the director of Harvest for the Hungary in Freeport, I believe we, HASK, can make a differ
ence.
"We, at Harvest for the Hungry, are on a mission to feed those in Texas who are hungry with fresh and healthy farm to table food at the same time providing awareness to the community of this unmet need. We welcome all partnerships, volunteers and donors who are aligned with our mission so we can take care of our community, neighbors, family and friends." David Huang, Founder and President
If you are interested and willing to join us at 10 AM, bring your dirty shoes and gardening gloves. We'll meet David, get a quick tour of the green house, orchard and gardens. And we'll get to work.
Afterwards, we'll head across the road to the Oyster Creek Park at 4021 FM 523, Oyster Creek, TX 77541. Here we'll put in after lunch and paddle 3.8 miles and back. Photo below:
Directions to Harvest for the Hungry --Enter 4302 FM 523 Road, Freeport, Texas 77451 mapping device.
Hazards -- Put in at the park, we'll have to find a spot free of concrete rubble. May see some motor boats on the creek.
