This is an ACA sanctioned event. All participants in ACA-insured activities must wear properly-fitting U.S. Coast Guard-approved lifejackets (Personal Flotation Devices, or PFDs) at all times during on-water activities. Non-HASK participants must sign a waiver.

We will paddle upsteam from BJ's Marina into Peach Creek.  Depending on circumstances, we will turn around at some point and paddle back.  This should be an easy paddle with a rest and/or lunch stop. I am anticipating 8 - 10 miles of paddling.  Be prepared, as always, for rain, insects, and possible immersion.  Have rain gear handy in your boat. Have a set of warm dry clothes in your boat. There could be a few pulls over shallow spots or around downed trees.

BJ's Marina is at 27907 Calvin Rd, Huffman, TX 77336.  They used to charge a parking fee of $3/car.  I will check in advane, in caseit is now different.  I will also check about restrooms, port-a-potties or similar being present.

I have increased group to 10, as we will have three trained trip leaders with us.

Lat - lon of the put-in is 
30° 3.52' N, 95° 7.88' W

Hazards  - A little current, slippery boat ramp, fire ants, alligators, snakes, some boat traffic, cold water.  Weather yet to be determined.
Have with you - Water, lunch, sunscreen, warm clothing in a dry bag.Have rain gear handy in your boat.


COVID - 19 - Please oberve COVID-19 precautions: masks when in close proximity to other people, keep distance on land and water, avoid sharing equipment, but do help people with boats.

Use the link HASK COVID-19 Waiver  to open the waiver in PDF form.  Print off the form, sign it and either bring it to the event or scan and email to me at bill@ohsiesworld.net as an attachment.  Other options are to take a photo of your waiver on your phone or scan using the Adobe Scan app and emailing or Text to Bill Ohsie.
