Let's meet at the Galveston side of the ferry route. There is a parking lot there on the right where we will unload our bikes. Riding the ferry with our bikes let's us avoid the car line. We will ride the first ferry after we are all ready.
It's about a 10 mile ride. We will visit Fort Travis Park, Bolivar North Jetty, Bolivar Beach, see the shrimp boats, then eat at La Playita before heading back.
This is not a fast ride, and we can ride highway 87 after the cars get off the ferry. We will mostly use back roads.
Hazards --Traffic,fire ants. Most importantly, bring plenty of water, warm clothes because of the wind, sun protection and snacks.
