The previous 30 years has witnessed a renaissance in pre-hospital trauma care. Modern Tourniquets have become a first-choice tool in treating life threatening bleeding of an extremity. Modern Hemostatic Dressings that are treated to assist with the formation of blood clots have been developed as an alternative tool for when Tourniquets are not available or not appropriate.
But your hands will commonly be the first tool used - because they are always there and time is critical!
Come learn these simple techniques for saving lives. Learn what to do and what NOT to do. Hands-on practice is an important part of this class.
It is suggested that ladies wear pants so that you can apply a Tourniquet to your own leg.
