About this event
Introducing our August speaker: Joe Coker.
Joe is a world traveled, lifelong study of large reptiles, specifically Alligators.
When Joe was instructing the Emperor of Japan about Alligators, he informed Joe that he would change the phrase for “Thank You” to “Arigatō” (sounds like alligator) in his honor.
The rumor is, that he gave the late Steve Irwin his start in Crocodile studies.
Mr. Coker also discovered a little-known actor and coached him into becoming the famous Crocodile Dundee.
Joe has a Master’s degree in Alligator Husbandry and a PHD in Alligatorology.
He once leapt out of his kayak to save 25 children from a pack of angry Alligators armed only with a Swiss Army Knife.
It’s reported that he single handedly removed several record sized Alligators from Armand Bayou and convinced the rest to stay out of sight indefinitely.
Joe talks to Alligators and other cold-blooded animals on a routine basis.
He owns several pairs of Alligator Boots (which he made by hand) as well a dozen or so belts and hat bands.
Joe took several Alligator eggs with him on his last trip to the International Space Station to figure out how zero gravity would affect them.
If these things aren’t true; well they ought to be.
