About this event
Be at the Put-In at 9:30 Paddles wet at 10 AM $10 to park and launch. Paddlers pay at the Bait Shop.
Directions to the Put-in: Take I-45 South to Texas City. Exit at "16". Take the Emmett Lowry Expressway flyover I-45. Proceed for about 5 miles, turning LEFT on Hwy 146for 1.5 miles, do not cross the bridge, turn right into Moses Lake Bait Camp, Boat Ramp and Storage. Meet in the parking lot, do not block the ramp. Make ready all gear & kayaks before launching.
Level 2 Trip Description: Expect to paddle 8-9 miles. Participants may paddle less, if returning to the Put-In with a Level 2 Trip Leader.
When off the water, let's regroup for a cold one and something to eat somewhere. One such possibility is the Fish Spot on the South end of the Lake. TAKES ONLY CASH!! Located at: 4009 20th St N, Texas City, TX 77590
Hazards: Late Spring conditions, Warm, breezy (8-11 mph ESE winds), slightly choppy waters possible. . Trip Leader(s) may adjust the route at any time to favor the wind if necessary. Will only go if conditions are favorable. Expect some weekday boat traffic, mostly fishermen and some oyster boats as they make their way to the flood gate (which we will avoid)
