About this event
A return trip to Harvest for the Hungry (H4H). I'm told the seeds we planted for cover / erosion control are sprouting! Today we will be tasked with transferring garden soil to bins on site to seed with vegetables for later cultivation. The bins will be placed in one of the 3 green houses.
H4F was started to create access to sustainable fruit and vegetables to local folks who are experiencing a lack of nutrition that is not supplied by food banks.
"We, at Harvest for the Hungry, are on a mission to feed those in Texas who are hungry with fresh and healthy farm to table food at the same time providing awareness to the community of this unmet need. We welcome all partnerships, volunteers and donors who are aligned with our mission so we can take care of our community, neighbors, family and friends." David Huang, Founder and President
If you are interested and willing to join us at 10 AM, bring your dirty shoes and gardening gloves. We'll meet David, get a quick tour of the green house, orchard and gardens. And we'll get to work.
