Abandoned Crab Trap Removal and Kayak Trip

The Galveston Bay Foundation will be collecting and smashing abandoned and derelict crab traps at two sites this year on Saturday, February 18 from 9am-1pm! Help them as a boat volunteer (on the water collecting traps), or a land-based volunteer (helping offload traps, smashing, and tossing them in the dumpster). Galveston Bay Foundation will have sites at Fort Anahuac Park in Anahuac, TX and at the Stingaree Restaurant in Bolivar, Texas.

Our participation will be as land-based volunteers smashing and trashing the traps. Our kayak trip on the Anahuac shoreline will be 1:30 PM

Leather gloves and sturdy boots are highly recommended while working with corroded derelict traps

This HASK Event will be held at Anahuac.
